Bulbs
Back in April, I thought buying 100 daffodil and tulip bulbs sounded like a good idea. Now that it's October, rainy, and cold...well I'm not so sure what I was thinking.

One more...
One more from the trip home. I've been stupidly homesick lately.

Toreador Red Chandelier
So I have this thing for Chihuly glasswork. When I was back in Omaha I decided to keep my mind off...er...things for a bit. I decided to confirm the rumor I'd heard that there was a Chihuly chandelier at the University of NE at Omaha IT college.
Somehow we managed to walk under it...not once but twice. Ever so observant I may be, but for some reason I thought it would be bigger and in a different spot in the school.
It's amazing when you realize how many individual pieces go in to making something like this:

Home again
This guy (who was kind enough to pose for me) and his stand at the airport are one of the reasons why I love Seattle so much. It's good to be home.

The call...
I figured I'd remember September 11th for the rest of my life for one reason but was given another today. My Grandma died at 8am CST this morning.
She went in her sleep and on her own terms. I don't have the words to verbalize who she was and what she meant to me, but every good trait I possess came from her.
Flying home tomorrow...
Gramma, Grandpa, and me:

Concerting
3:00 - Finally get the hell out of Tacoma.
6:00 - Reach exit 143, head towards the Gorge.
6:45 - Park.
6:55 - Scrounge for seating. Curse self for buying lawn seats. End up in the GA section right behind the fence.
7:05 - 9:30 - Try to watch concert between getting kicked and watching people fight over 1'x1' space. Watch the fence jumpers and people making out 2 feet in front of me. Listen to the thudding sound of people landing in our space. Watch so I don't get drenched in beer. Get a contact high.
9:30 - Realize we're getting too old for this shit when the guy in front of us almost gets set on fire from someone else's cigarette. Fight our way out. Head for home.
I went nuts when we moved here and we've tried to see as many big venue concerts as we could to make up for lost time. But the reality is sometimes...it's just not worth the drive time or gas money. People are rude.
I'm sure it was a great concert. Actually when I wasn't being distracted by the aforementioned I did enjoy a couple songs. I think smaller clubs and venues are in our future. Need to get back into seeing live theater anyhow.
Second concert in a row where we should have left earlier, and we should have gotten seats instead of sitting on the lawn.
Hindsight and all...
