upper antelope canyon b&w
We had the best time in Arizona. Page is beautiful, and the scenery down here is just breathtaking. We spent the morning in Upper Antelope Canyon where I attempted to take photos - I say attempted because it was an absolute humbling experience. Between the light changing and the sun blowng out highlights, the constant stream of tourists ("we're being invaded by the French!), the unfamiliarity with the surroundings, and my "just learning" status, well I was happy to walk away with the shots I got. The absolute funniest moment was when this lady passed by me - I was sitting on the ground below her field of view apparently because all of a sudden she noticed me and screamed. Halloween may have come a bit early for her this year.
As far as vacations and anniversaries go, this long weekend absolutely ranks in the top 3. I wish we could live on room service just a tiny bit longer...

christine falls
this is from the last roll of film I took with the Holga before its untimely demise. the roll sat in the bottom of my purse for too long, but a few of the photos came out pretty well. this of Christine Falls at Mt Rainier is my favorite.

blue water
I'm a gadget geek, so when I saw the blue LED faucet light over at ThinkGeek I decided to waste a bit of money on something that absolutely fascinated me. This gets the "ooh shiny" award of the week.

night visitor
It usually starts with the clang of the chain link fence which runs along one side of the house, and then the dogs go absolutely nuts. This guy sat perched for a while, nonplussed, and just watched them jump.

just resting
Fall at Yashiro Japanese Garden, and I was surprised to find flowers still blooming. This one was tucked under and almost out of sight. I think I took about 20 shots and then called it good.

Time flies
I've been gone for a bit - summer came and went pretty quickly or so it seemed. I'd grown tired of the photo blog design but it's so hectic around here sometimes that I'd just put off working on a new theme. But I'm happy on what I've settled on for now and should be posting with some regularity again...
