What a weekend.

Our poker party for my friend’s birthday went really well – even in my slightly drunken state I seemed to play better than normal and it was really great to have a houseful of people whom I enjoy spending time with.

Then we spent today at McChord at the airshow – my sister-in-law had VIP tickets so we sat in the shade and nom’d on free food and drinks. I hadn’t really been up since my departure from working there 2 years ago. For the most part I have fond memories of the time I spent there so it was nice to be close to the flightline again and see my birds in action.

Tonight we hit the Lakefair fireworks – they were beautiful as always and even though we got there late I got my camera hooked up in a nice spot. I managed to get a couple of good shots but it’s still apparent that the Sony and I are bonding. Ah well, so it goes.

Tomorrow is my surgery. I sit here not knowing the outcome – hoping that I’m worrying too much – and am really thirsty because it’s after midnight but I can’t consume anything. I hope it goes well. I can’t wait until I know how it went instead of waiting for it…
