Monday
After a weekend such as this, well a nice sunny Monday by the pool was a refreshing change.

Roman candles
Big juicy steaks, baked potatoes, yummy Hefeweizen with extra lemon, loads of fireworks...and no one lost an eye or finger. A happy 4th all around :)

Home
Spent the week in Seattle for training. I love spending time in the city and got everything done that I needed to, but I'm sooo glad to be home :)

Four little words...
"Wanna go to Vegas?"
Suddenly our stay-at-home vacation was transformed into a Vegas mini-break. We drank, we gambled...we saw a man with a giant stack of cash drop two $500 coins into a slot machine at Mandalay Bay as if he were dropping quarters.
We didn't see it all, not even close, but it was nice to get out of town for a couple of days.

Countdown to vacation
It seems just when life is rolling along something happens which shakes you to your core. That was Tuesday.
I mean, I guess I get it? Everyone gets a fair chance at first, but when the spidey senses tingle and I realize that we're not going to be bosom buddies I tend to back off. I don't like to invest time in meaningless ventures.
I also don't go to work to make friends. If it happens (as it has on more than one occasion) then great - added bonus. But honestly I'm there to do the job for which I was employed, to grow in my chosen field, and then go back home at night to my real life.
I'm not there to appease you or to make you like me. Some people have an adverse reaction to my personality and really...that's okay. We're all built differently. I can still get along with you on a professional level but backyard barbecues and home poker parties are probably out of the question.
But don't think for one damn fool minute that I'm going to let you walk all over me or talk to me like I'm the piece of shit here. And don't entertain the idea that you've somehow broken me because you're not getting the reaction you expected. Many have tried; bigger bitches and wastes of space than you, and none have succeeded. You won't, either.
Never underestimate the power of the Yelley.
